Miles Barstead is a Toronto-based writer, director and musician.
​
Originally from Gabriola Island, British Columbia, he holds a Bachelor's degree in music performance from the University of Toronto.
​
Dim the Fluorescents, a feature film he co-wrote and scored, won the Grand Jury prize at Slamdance 2017.
​
The short film Think About a Dolphin for Once, his directorial debut, was funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.
​
He is currently at work on his first feature film, several multimedia collaborations, and ongoing musical projects.
